Tips on Purchasing your Memorial

 1.  Ask questions:  Since you have never purchased a memorial before, there is no such thing as a "stupid" question.  Ex:  What colors are available and where do they come from?  Is there a local color that is available?

 2.  Cemetery tours are a big help in the process.  There are so many shapes, colors, designs to choose from and this can be overwhelming.  If you have the option to walk the cemeteries and see things that you do and do not like, this will help your decision process.  (Hint: take a camera with you and take photos of what you like.  It is very difficult to tell someone what you want a picture truely does speak a 1000 words.)
 3.  If you are duplicating family stones in color, size, shape, make sure to have all your information; or again at least a photo of the family stones so your memorial specialist can help you.  Dimensions of existing stones are very helpful. (ex: length, thickness and height of the memorial)
4.  Know what is included in your purchase price.  Does the cost include delivery, installation and a cement foundation?   How much lettering is included...front, back or both?  Traditionally, any lettering done after the stone is installed is not included in the cost of a memorial (ex: kids names, wedding dates, death dates) so make sure to include all that you can at the time of purchase.

 5.  All companies are different in their sandblasting styles.  You want to make sure you are getting a good quality product at a fair price.  Not always are the "cheapest"  the best quality for your money.  Ask to see their sandblast work.  Sandblasting that is only done as a "surface" blast will be harder to read.  Make sure the company you choose to do your work has good craftsmanship and will meet your standards.
 6.  Warranties & Guarantees:  Ask the company what type of warranty there is on the product.  Any reputable company will stand behind their product.  Many of these start-up companies and internet based companies cannot help you once they have shipped or installed your memorial.  Rausch Bros. is a 4 generation family owned business and have always put customer service first.  We have served thousands of customers to date and plan to be around for many more.
